Seeing plants grow

I have been away down in the Evesham area, it’s a great place to see many working nurseries growing and selling plants, as well as some of the enormous glasshouses on a commercial scale. One place that I often visit has a great outdoor growing area where all the plants are labelled up and growing in their natural state. It’s always good to be able to view plants at different times of the year and see how they perform. The good thing at this nursery is that plants can be viewed before then going and buying them, knowing where they have been grown and what garden conditions they prefer – this is better than viewing benches of plants at a garden centre!

Plants being grown in a sheltered environment. A great way to see how the plants really grow and also their potential (as well as faults!)

Plants grown in tunnels and ready for buying - these can be viewed in the outside growing areas too.

The outside growing areas - fantastic to see them in real conditions rather than on a bench at the garden centre.
